EQUILIBRIUM
The music we can hear on the CD
Equilibrium
- most of which was composed between 1995 and 2000 - was first performed by him
at a recital of the same name in January 2000 in Koper. The recording of the CD
took place a year later at the chapel in Mala Loka Castle (live) and in Studio
VPK, Ljubljana. On two of the seventeen guitar compositions Etbin
sings
his lyrics in ‘somewhat exotic’ Slovene. The
total playing time is 70 minutes, 20 seconds.
The
diatonic mouth harmonicas
Etbin plays in thirteen of the compositions either accompany the
classical guitar
or act as more than mere accompaniment enriching the harmony and structure of
the compositions in a soloist manner. In each composition Etbin uses two or more
mouth harmonicas in order to get a greater tonal choice. Each harmonica is in a
different key.
